Diagnosis

Trechona can be distinguished from the alyrate genera of the subfamily Diplurinae by the presence of a prolateral lyra on the maxillae. Differs from Diplura and Harmonicon by the high amount of lyra bristles, situated in several long rows diagonal on maxillae.
